Alberelli di Giodo Carricante Sicilia Blanc 2021 stands among the most refined white wines from Mount Etna – a study in freshness, balance, and mineral precision.
Carlo Ferrini, one of Italy’s most respected oenologists and the mind behind some of Tuscany’s greatest reds, reveals a new dimension of his craft with this exceptional Sicilian project.

The wine comes from small parcels on Etna’s northern slopes, where Carricante vines grow as alberelli – free-standing bush vines rooted in the black volcanic soils at 560–850 meters above sea level. The altitude and the northern exposure create a perfect balance between ripeness, tension, and salinity, giving the wine remarkable purity and depth.

In the glass, the 2021 vintage shows a pale golden hue and aromas of citrus, white flowers, and wet stone. The palate is vibrant and layered, with notes of lemon zest, peach skin, salt, and flinty minerality. Long and elegant, with energy and precision, it is a wine that will gain further complexity with time – developing subtle, Riesling-like hints of petrol and honey.

Only about 3,500 bottles were produced. A rare, artisanal expression that captures the soul of Etna and the quiet mastery of Carlo Ferrini.
