Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Bianco 2023 is a benchmark example of how refined and expressive white wine from Mount Etna can be. Sourced from 25–60-year-old vines growing on the volcano’s cool northern slopes at 600–900 metres, this wine brings together Carricante and other native Sicilian varieties in a blend that captures the clarity, altitude and volcanic character of the region. The 2023 vintage was demanding, yet the result is remarkably focused, vibrant and pure.

Etna Bianco is a traditional vineyard blend built around Carricante, supported by Catarratto, Inzolia, Grecanico and Minnella. Vinification is entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness, minerality and the unfiltered expression of Etna’s terroir. No oak is used – nothing stands between the wine and the character of the mountain.

The nose shows citrus, white pepper, stone and a subtle hint of flint. On the palate, the wine is taut, concentrated and finely etched, with acidity that carries the citrus and mineral notes into a long, saline finish. It has weight, but everything is held in balance by a cool, volcanic tension. Drinkable now, but it will gain complexity with age.
