GIODO “Alberelli di Giodo” Nerello Mascalese 2021 is one of the most refined and sought-after red wines from Etna. Created by the legendary winemaker Carlo Ferrini, known for his precision and sense of balance, it shows how Nerello Mascalese can reach a level where elegance and energy coexist in perfect harmony.

The grapes come from 80–100-year-old bush vines on Etna’s northern slopes – a tiny, two-hectare nano-terroir with black volcanic soil rich in pumice and minerals. The altitude and cool mountain breezes give the wine a vivid freshness, aromatic depth, and an almost liquid minerality.

Fermentation occurs naturally, and the wine matures slowly in large oak casks, preserving its purity and finesse. In the glass, the 2021 vintage reveals layers of red berries, spice, and a subtle smoky note. The palate is silky, precise, and persistent – with fine, powdery tannins and a finish that hums with volcanic energy.
