Crafted from four distinct clones of Sangiovese Grosso sourced from Valdicava’s oldest vineyards in northern Montalcino, some nearly 50 years old. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel vats, followed by four years of aging in a combination of barriques and large Slavonian oak casks before final refinement in bottle. The result is a Brunello of remarkable structure, depth, and purity.

The bouquet reveals balsamic notes, tea, dark berries, walnut, and coffee. On the palate, it is concentrated yet composed, with ripe tannins, silky texture, and a long, refined finish that unfolds with grace and persistence.

James Suckling writes: “Full-bodied, yet tight and very intense… racy and polished – beautiful length to this wine.”
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate notes that “a strong argument can be made that Valdicava is among the top three or four Brunello di Montalcino producers.” The 2016 vintage stands as one of the estate’s greatest achievements.
